CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
Hello everyone, today I will talk about my study program. The Faculty of Forest Sciences is very peculiar, since it requires many field trips, however, despite this need, budgets are limited to these, so many subjects that require it do not have these.
Within the subjects there are several courses to form certain bases, such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, etc. As well as there are many more advanced branches, delving into aspects such as ecology, nursery, physiology, genetics, forest management, etc. These more complex branches are usually the essence of the career, a criticism towards these is that the branches have many requirements, and that in some they are not closely related. On the other hand, throughout the career there are several branches that do not have much relevance, so they are generally not very considered by the student body, this is due to the high academic load, so these branches become a loss of time not being well received.
Another relevant aspect is that currently the courses have a high academic load (as in the rest of the careers) which only harms the learning process. This could perhaps decrease if teachers were trained in pedagogy. on the other hand, there are many contents that are repeated throughout the career, reaching the same subject being studied four times.
Broadly speaking, the Faculty of Forest Sciences has many aspects to improve, however despite all this there are many things that are appreciated in the training they provide. There are many good and bad things that I have forgotten to comment on, but until today's blog arrives.
I think they should reduce the academic load, I consider that it is a lot
